An example of the “Basic” CMS, this large and informal design for a fictional crossover–style string trio uses a subtle parallax design between background image and content and keeps scrolling fluid. The first image of the site does not contain any content and presents itself like a front cover to the rest of the site. Content is displayed like individual posts and each page has the option of being accompanied by pictures from Instagram. Ideally the band would update the website with highlights from their Instagram feed and the images counterbalance the text. The Instagram posts themselves are cached on the server, speeding up page load time tenfold.

This clean and attractive design for a fictional photographer is an example of the “Advanced” package and places the single image on each page at the centre of the design. There is no clutter around the borders of the page and the text content is kept to the side, functioning as a blurb to the focal point of the page: the image. The name and subtitle of the site is always visible at the top–left of the design and the menu items are styled plainly to keep the visitor’s eyes on the photographs. These photographs are thumbnailed to the exact size that they are displayed on the screen and prevented from right–click copying so that anyone wishing to steal the image cannot simply gain a full–resolution copy.

The menus are infinitely configurable and each page can have its own image. All the content is preloaded so that when a menu item is selected, the user is taken to that page immediately without loading a new page. The transition between pages is on an hidden carousel which spins between pages as the images fade gently from one to another. On a similar level is the blog which seamlessly integrates with the standard pages and can be reached from a special menu item.

Everything about the site is very simply controlled from the CMS interface which is securely accessed by an unlimited set of configurable users, each with their own password. From here, pages can be added, deleted, edited, their images changed, as well as blog posts made. Nothing is static and anything on the site can be altered with this simple interface.
